Commissioner Edward DeCaro

Born in New York City in 1951, Commissioner DeCaro graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1978. From January 1981 to June of 1987 Commissioner DeCaro was a Deputy District Attorney for the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s office where he handled misdemeanors, felonies, and juvenile court matters.

In June, 1987, Commissioner DeCaro was appointed to be a Commissioner of the Santa Barbara Municipal Court and in August of 1998, he was sworn in as a Superior Court Commissioner. He was the 1999 recipient of the County Bar Association’s Judicial Service Award for extraordinary service.
