Judge Rick Brown

Judge Rick Brown was raised in the Santa Ynez Valley, and was graduated from Santa Ynez Union High School in 1960 where he served as Student Body President. He received his B.A. degree from Stanford University in 1964 and his J.D. degree from UCLA Law School in 1967. From October 1967 to June of 1970, he studied International Law at the University of Paris, France.

Judge Brown was a Deputy City Attorney for the City of Los Angeles from 1970 to 1972. He then had a private law practice in the Santa Ynez Valley for five years. In November of 1976 Judge Brown was elected to the Solvang Justice Court where he served for nineteen years. He became a Municipal Court Judge in 1995 and a Superior Court Judge in 1998.

His interests include piano, hiking, and all things French.
