Yes, please refer to your courtesy notice for information on how to request a traffic court trial.

Q: CAN I APPEAR REMOTELY AT MY TRAFFIC COURT TRIAL?
A:
No, traffic court trials require an in-person appearance.

Q: I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THE TRAFFIC CITATION, WHAT CAN I DO?
A:
To ask the Court to consider your ability to pay due to a financial hardship and decide whether to approve a reduced fine with a payment plan or community service, you may request a judicial determination without the deposit of bail. To make this request please submit these forms SC-8028 & SC -1038 to the Court.

Q: CAN I CONTEST MY CITATION WITH A TRIAL BY WRITTEN DECLARATION?
A:
Yes, you may request a trial by written declaration if you were cited with a violation of the Vehicle Code.

Q: DO I NEED TO POST BAIL FOR A TRIAL BY WRITTEN DECLARATION?
A:
Yes, bail shall be submitted in accordance with Vehicle Code section 40902.

Q: I RECEIVED A TRAFFIC CITATION AND I NEED AN EXTENSION FOR THE PAYMENT, WHAT DO I DO?
A:
Please contact the appropriate traffic division listed on your citation by telephone between the hours of 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday, to receive information regarding a fine extension.

Q: I NEED AN EXTENSION TO SUBMIT MY PROOF OF CORRECTION, WHAT DO I DO?
A:
Please contact the appropriate traffic division listed on your citation by telephone between the hours of 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday, to receive information regarding an extension to submit your proof of correction.
